Activity / Lesson Idea: Gather the children in a softly lit circle on a woolen rug after a gentle morning walk. Begin with a simple autumn verse spoken slowly and repeated three times: "Golden leaves are dancing down, / Dancing down, dancing down, / Golden leaves are dancing down, / To the waiting earth so brown." As the verse is spoken, the children imitate the wind with soft arm circles overhead, then let their fingers flutter downward like falling leaves, ending in a quiet crouch to touch the floor. The circle then opens into a nature-table moment: each child chooses one small treasure from a basket — a crimson maple leaf, smooth acorn or tiny pinecone — and places it with reverence on a low table dressed with a silk cloth in autumn gold and russet…
