A real run (plan-do-review · block area · 3–4 year olds · KDIs):
Activity Idea: Plan a small-group time in the block area where children build their own structures using open-ended blocks. Set up a low, accessible shelf with wooden unit blocks, cardboard tubes and fabric scraps, with a simple planning board of picture choices (tower, road, house) at child height. During plan time, children point to or name what they will build. In do time, they explore and build freely while adults stay nearby. For review, children bring one block piece back to the circle and show or tell what happened. Adult scaffolding uses open-ended questions like "What are you making?" or "How can we make it taller?"… This promotes active learning and connects to KDIs including initiative, problem solving and fine-motor control.
